- Be sure to do some research and choose the code systems that appeal to you. (Look up code(s), secret codes, ciphers) Possibilities include:
- Morse code
- Hieroglyphics
- Braille
- Semaphore
- ASL - American Sign Language
- Tap / Knock code
- Secret codes:
- Julius Caesar's Code - Caesar Shift
- Polybius Square
- Scytale cipher
- Alberti cipher / formula
- Binary / ASCII
- The format of your presentation will be up to you: Powerpoint, mind-map, poster, report, etc
- In your presentation, be sure to include: (these are ideas)
- Definition of what "Code" means
- For each of your codes:
- History of the code:
- Who created it?
- How / Why it was developed?
- When / where was it used?
- How was it used?
- Picture(s) and / or videos that provide examples of the code
- Explanation of how the code works (How do you use it)
- History of the code:
- If relevant, what impact did the code have on the world or the people who used it.
- Consider including:
- Video link
- Link to other sites about the code(s)
- Advice
- The codes you choose should represent different periods of time and / or areas of programming. In other words don't choose code systems that are too similar.
- Don't become a copy and paste thief. Put things in your own words.
- Cite the sources you used to gather your information
- Your presentation will be evaluated amongst other things in terms of depth of content, organization, visual appeal, sources used.
